Institute of Science and Nirma Libraries had organized a Public Lecture On “Make India Read” by Mr. Amrut Deshmukh. Dr.Anup Singh, Director General, NIRMA University gave the Presidential address. Dr. Singh described type of reading as pleasure reading known as pulp reading and reading for knowledge including many types of reading.
Mr. Amrut Deshmukh, who is popularly known as the Booklet Guy has introduce Audio Book Summaries to encourage people to read. He has also launched an application named “Booklet Guy” on 23rd April 2016 which is celebrated as the “World Book Day”. In his talk, Mr. Deshmukh shared how and why he started the mission, his journey and learning. He gave interesting tips on speed reading and how to store and recall information from the books through his experiences. As a social entrepreneur, he inspired everyone to focus on “Social Returns of Investment” than just money. He emphasized on scheduling the routine and urged everyone to take “action which gives motivation” to succeed in life.
